This site covers over 15 years of my work. Most of the works took months to complete.
The website is my statement for celebrating life through art, yoga, and spirituality.
This is a Website that offers art to empower and transform others. Subjects portrayed can be on any topic. My art is for the purpose of empowerment, beauty, intensity and one's beliefs. Art can be something that moves, touches and inspires others to see the inner beauty within themselves. To have faith in themselves. To believe in themselves.
Gouache is my chosen medium. I was introduced to the medium during an illustration class. Gouache is a water based paint that is opaque. The colors are rich and vibrant.
A great friend and intellectual genius said of my work: "If you haven't seen Lisa's work yet, you are in for a treat. Her style is unique and elusive to categorize. In many works, Indian Gods and Goddesses, painted in intimate detail, shine forth with a numinous light and great spiritual potency. Backgrounds contain intricate kaliedioscopic effects and sometimes architypal images, like little dophins swimming around the borders. Some of her work reminds me of a cross between Escher and Klimt - personas that 'morph' and fall away into the geometric patterns and coordinated colors of a mysterious inner life. These works are much more than pleasant pictures meant to take up space on the living room wall. I believe they are as original, soulful, powerful, and creative as you will find in any truly great work, and are the product of an artist who may someday be quite famous for it. I hope you get to see more of her work." -S.J.
"When I view your art I am initially amazed by the richness of color and texture. This richness draws me in and captures my attention. This 'drawing in' quality creates both a calmness and a point of focus that results in an altered state. Thus, your art is a window to the self that allows one to experience a contemplative or meditative state. What a gift you have. Do share with the world!" -Cindy
"Lisa's paintings unfold like kaleidoscopic color tones onto the page. Incorporating distinct colors, shapes, patterns and diverse multi- and pop-cultural icons, she blends the intensities of color and culture into appreciative songs of both." -J.K.
